Partnerships

 

Bethany’s Outreach Team oversees the collection and distribution of the congregation’s benevolent offerings. It also encourages Bethany members to participate in mission/outreach opportunities, supports denominational missions, and partners with local and global missionaries and mission programs.

 

Through this team, Bethany supports:

  • RCA Missionaries in Kenya, Oman and South Sudan  (www.rca.org)

  • RCA Missionary in partnership with Remember Nhu to prevent human trafficking (www.remembernhu.org)

  • Camp Manitoqua  (www.manitoqua.org)

  • Monthly New Day Meal (a free meal for the community)

Current Opportunities

South High Food Pantry
 

Because of the impact of the pandemic, South’s Food Pantry has been hit hard and needs to be restocked. We’re going to sponsor a Food Drive on Sat, Dec. 5 from 10am-12, on Mon, Dec 7 from 4-6pm, and on Tues, Dec 8 from 5-7pm. All you need to do is purchase your items and drop them off at Bethany during those times. For a list of requested items, see below.

 

Items Requested:

  • Peanut butter

  • Jelly

  • Spaghetti sauce

  • Spaghetti noodles

  • Instant Rice

  • Instant Pancake mix

  • Pancake Syrup

  • Ramen noodles – chicken and beef

  • All in one box meals

  • “Hamburger Helper”

  • Stuffing mix

  • Boxed / bagged mashed potatoes

  • Seasoned pasta mixes (chicken, beef, Spanish, etc)

  • Crackers

  • Canned meats (especially Chicken)

  • Canned Pastas (Spaghettios, Raviolios etc.)

  • Canned / Cupped Fruit

  • Basic canned veggies (corn, peas, green beans)

  • Potato Chips

  • Bottled Water

  • and.....toilet paper!!!

Salvation Army Bell Ringing
 

Individuals or families can sign up to ring bells for the Salvation Army in hour shifts on Saturdays, Dec 5 & 12, from 9am to noon each day. If you’re interested, please contact Mary Reklaitis (mreklaitis@outlook.com).

Longfellow Holiday Shop
 

As we have for several years now, we will be providing gifts for students at Longfellow Elementary to “buy” that they can wrap and give to a family member.

Sheboygan County Food Bank
 

We are forming two teams (with a maximum of 10 volunteers each) who will serve on Monday, Dec. 21 & Tuesday, Dec. 22 from 5-7pm. If you’re interested, please contact Barb Bonnett (barbbonnett1@gmail.com).
